Lai-Yates Family

Judy and Jeremy have won the baby lottery. Their kids are the cutest, coolest little monkeys with tons of character and energy. They’re also incredibly well behaved, but they are still kids, and a photo shoot out in the cold evening calls for quick shooting and lots of bribery with sugary treats.

The sky was amazing, as was the whole family. What an honor to do their portraits. Jeremy is an outstanding artist — if you've played the PS3 games "Uncharted," you've seen his work as lead character animator (and Drake’s hair was modeled after Jer's). He lent his talent on most of the digital edits to the photos below.

I love the energy in this shot. Chase is always moving. You’ve got to be fast with a camera — having toys and cookies to bribe him helps.

Jeremy was doing some shooting as well, and when he climbed up on this rock outcropping to scout a shot, I caught his heroic-looking silhouette with his camera in hand.
