Steve & Francie Wedding

It’s always a special honor to shoot any wedding, but theopportunity to photograph a ceremony like Steve and Francie’s is also a learning experience. Most weddings I’ve attended or worked were Christian and had roughly similar series of events … get dressed, walk the aisle, sermon, vows, etc.

This wonderful couple was married at the Lake Shrine Self Realization Fellowship in Pacific Palisades. So much of the ceremony happens before the guests are even present. Garlands of flowers, meditation, and a little playful spinning in the gorgeous dress — all in one of the most beautiful locales I’ve visited in all of Los Angeles — made for a uniquely memorable day.

Francie’s friend garlanded all the women in the wedding party as part of the pre-ceremony ceremony. It was in a secluded grotto with the most delicious light.

Francie was all joy. Her face was beaming the entire day, and she couldn’t help but do an impromptu twirl as we were walking to the chapel.

I love the tenderness between these two. It was visible in every word and touch.
